Atalanta ( butterfly) on echinacea White Swan Butterfly, white swan echinacea I prefer to photograph the butterflies on an early summer morning. The butterflies are then still damp from the night and dry their wings in the gentle breeze. They sit for a very long time with their wings spread open. The hairs are clearly visible so is the fanastic build of the butterfly. Every time, it is a treat to photograph and be with nature like this.
