The Bugatti Royale Coupé Napoléon Type 41, or Coupé Napoléon for short, is one of six examples of the Type 41, better known as Royale. Each of the six Royales has a unique body design, and the Napoléon is a coupé de ville, with an open seating area for the driver and a closed section for the owner. Despite its enormous size, the design by Ettore Bugatti's son Jean[1] looks stretched and balanced. Adding to its prestige was the fact that the car was a favourite of Ettore's who used it himself. A turbulent existence had preceded this, for this build was already at least the fourth. The chassis dates from 1926 and the bodywork from 1930.
