brown red heidelibel
I came across this brown red heidelibel during a walk in August through the Amsterdam water supply dunes. I found an awful lot of dragonflies there.
I always find them a wonderful subject to capture because they are very detailed and handsome.

The brown red heidelibel is a true dragonfly from the Wheatbill family. It is a 42 to 44 mm long dragonfly found in almost all of Europe. In Belgium and the Netherlands, it is a common species from July to October. Regular invasions occur from the south. Wikipedia
