About "Brooklyn Bridge"

About the artwork

The Brooklyn Bridge, built in 1883, is a suspension bridge in New York in the United States. It crosses the East River and connects Brooklyn with Lower Manhattan, just like the Manhattan Bridge. The architects were John Roebling and his son Washington Roebling. Washington's wife, Emily Warren Roebling, took charge of the actual dismantling of the bridge when her husband, a victim of caisson disease, was no longer able to do so.

The bridge is 1825 meters long, and the largest span is 486 meters. Therefore, until the construction of the Williamsburg bridge, the bridge was in a fall of the cables and due to the caisson disease caused by the work on the pylons below the water level.

The completion of the bridge and its record length gave rise to a new understanding of the urban scale of New York. In the bridge, the contrast between the old materials and the new materials of the new era, the massive supports and the 'fine' cabling that the road surface carries, becomes clear.

On the Brooklyn Bridge there is also a city seal of Dutch origin dating from 1834 on which you can read "Eendraght maakt Magt" (Eendracht maakt macht).

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers. Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
