Botanical Gold: Morning Star with a smoky haze in atmospheric light by Marjolijn van den Berg

In this photograph, “Botanical Gold: Morning Star with a veil of smoke in atmospheric light”, you can see the fluffy seed head of a Tragopogon (also known as Morning Star in the Netherlands) with white, delicate wisps of smoke within and around it. The fluffy seed head, with its characteristic geometric shape, is captured in a warm and soft light that beautifully and subtly accentuates the fine details of the seeds. The background has been deliberately kept dark brown and calm, ensuring that all attention is focused on the fragile structure of the fluff. This creates an image that is both powerful and understated, fitting for an interior where tranquillity and natural tones prevail.
A distinctive element in this composition is the smoke moving through and around the Morning Star. This smoke creates a natural softness and a slightly diffused effect, making the lines of the fluff ball appear less harsh. It lends the photograph a dreamy, atmospheric quality. The combination of the warm light and the misty textures creates a layered image that you keep looking at; time and again, you discover new details in the delicate fluff. The earthy colours and the natural subject matter make this a timeless piece for the wall. The image exudes an organic tranquillity that blends well with materials such as wood, wool and linen. The focus on a single detail from nature and the warm, dark colour scheme create an intimate atmosphere in the room. It is a beauty of decay, in which the Morning Star is bathed in full light one last time in its final phase. This photograph is ideally suited for those seeking wall art that makes a statement through its simplicity. The work brings the balance of nature indoors and creates a haven of calm in the room. This morning star, surrounded by soft smoke, forms an atmospheric and authentic image that comes into its own in many interior styles.
