The wild hyacinth or boshyacinth (Hyacinthoides non-scripta, synonym: Scilla non-scripta) is a plant of the asparagus family (Asparagaceae).
The plant was already described by Carl Linnaeus, who gave it the species designation non-scripta because, unlike the hyacinths, this plant could not distinguish any white signs in the flower petals. Linnaeus classed him among the hyacinths. Later the plant was assigned to the genus Scilla. Now the plant is classified under the genus Hyacinthoides.
