About ‘Blue’ by Marloes Aerts

This artwork has a somewhat cool, raw vibe thanks to the use of blue, black and white. It almost feels like a nocturnal cityscape, but rendered entirely in an abstract style. The various shades of blue lend the work a sense of depth and mystery, whilst the black areas and lines provide a solid foundation. The white breaks this up and creates small moments of light, as if a light were shining through from somewhere.

What stands out is the amount of movement. The diagonal lines and scratchy brushstrokes seem to go in all directions, keeping your eyes constantly searching. It feels a bit chaotic, yet there is clearly a certain structure underlying it. As if everything has ‘accidentally’ ended up exactly in the right place.

Texture also plays a major role. You can really see that layers have been applied on top of one another, sometimes thick and rough, sometimes thin and smudged. This gives the work depth and makes it interesting to look at for longer. It could represent anything: a city, a memory, or simply a feeling. Precisely because it isn’t fixed, you can find your own story within it.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
