In search of food, many animals need to be able to feed flexibly. This little blue tit had started to break open the wooden stalk with its beak to reach the fibres inside. In the process, snow was trickling off the leaves. This gives the picture a certain extra. Until now I had only known titmice as spider and insect eaters, or in winter as grain eaters. I learned something new again.
