About ‘Blue Moon’ by Elviedan Monjet

This work began as a fleeting thought: a face that not only looks, but also grows — a person taking root in the world. I combined a photographic portrait with elements from the landscape to create a borderland between humanity and nature. The tree is no ordinary tree; it is a body stretching out from mud and ebb, with muscles of bark and fingers gently probing the space. The moon in the background acted as a catalyst: its cool, imperturbable light casts the scene into a timeless silence.

Whilst creating this, I sought out contrasts that do not cancel each other out but rather reinforce one another. The blue canopy contrasts with the warm, yellowish face and the wooden roots — creating a tension between vulnerability and strength. The hands give the work a human presence that feels both protective and moved: they hold on, for the past and memory must not be lost, yet they also sense the ebb and flow of the tide and the continuity of nature.

What it radiates is melancholy tinged with hope. The low horizon and the receding water evoke transience; the tree trunk, on the other hand, anchors the moment and invites us to listen. The sculpture aims to make the viewer reflect on connectedness — with memories, with the landscape, with the invisible rhythm of ebb and flow. It is a visual metaphor for how we root our lives: shaped by the outside world and our inner selves, always in motion yet longing for a foothold.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
