About the artwork
This blue jay was created as a watercolor with east Indian ink on watercolor paper and then digitally edited in Photoshop. If you look closely you can see several layers of old masters shining through. However, these are very subtle in the form of a floral pattern. The background is powder pink for a romantic atmosphere in your romantic, botanical or shabby chic interior.

The blue jay, also known as Corvus cristatus, is a North American species of crow. Although the bird is typical of North America, it can be found scattered throughout the world. These birds have a distinctive lavender blue plumage on the back and head. The feathers on the lower body are off-white, and around the neck is a black collar. The blue jay grows to about 30 cm in length.
