Black-tailed godwit as a silhouette against a summer evening sun tempered by clouds in the beautiful area of the Arkemheen polder in Gelderland. A beautiful nesting area for many species of meadow birds that can still breed here reasonably undisturbed with the help of volunteers and willing farmers. The black-tailed godwit is a common species of meadow bird but is under pressure from disappearing small-scale agriculture. Black-tailed godwits always look for a perch after the birth of their young to keep an eye on the surroundings against potential intruders. A beautiful bird that certainly needs to be preserved for our little chickadee.
