The black swan (Cygnus atratus) is a bird species of the genus Cygnus (swans). The black swan is almost completely black with only white hand pens. The pink-red beak is lighter on the tip. The legs are grey. The black swan has the longest neck of all swans: more than half as long as the total body length. It is 110 to 140 centimetres long and weighs up to six kilograms. The sexes are similar in appearance.
