About ‘Bird in New York’ by Erwin van Kester
This bird sits on a branch, as they do in so many places. However, the skyscraper in the background betrays that this is in the middle of the city, in this case New York. The tranquillity of the bird on the branch contrasts with the busy Manhattan. Wouldn't we all like to be that bird for a while?

Hello, my name is Erwin van Kester (1988) and I live in Rijswijk, near Delft. I like taking pictures of places, but also of events. With places, I try to capture the atmosphere of a place with a nice perspective.
At events, I try to capture what is happening like 'fly on the wall', preferably without the other attendees noticing. Photos are most fun when people do not realise there is a camera present.
