A typical Dutch image on the sea dike at Westkapelle. In the farthest corners of our cultivated country you can find bike paths that take you to the most beautiful places. Here you see in the distance the Noorderhoofd lighthouse (Westkapelle - low), one of the first round lighthouses in the Netherlands made of cast iron.

For shipping, an important point for the ports of Antwerp and Vlissingen but for the tourists of Walcheren and Zeeland a favorite place to watch the sunset at dusk. You have to have something to show for it because as a cyclist in the flat polder landscape you regularly pedal with a strong headwind the black before your eyes while the clouds race over you, the dune grass flattens against the sand and the destination seems further away than what you would think at first glance.
