About ‘Bicyclette au Vésinet’ by Low Profile

"Bicyclette au Vésinet" (style Low poly) inspiration from a painting by Léon François Comerre in (1903)

The painting by Léon Comerre (1850-1916) is part of the City of Paris's collections and is sometimes displayed at the Petit Palais. The first time I saw it, I was struck by the resemblance between Géo, Léon Comerre's daughter, who is the young woman holding her bicycle in a park in Le Vésinet, and Manon Bousquet, the daughter of an old friend, Olivier Bousquet. It was Olivier who designed and maintains this website showcasing my work.

Léon Comerre is a somewhat forgotten painter. Yet, there is a large and impressive painting by him on display at the Nantes Museum of Art: The Flood (1911), and a curious painting, of which I have only seen reproductions: Cosette's Doll, which now belongs to the town of Trélon, his birthplace. Léon Comerre's wife, Jacqueline Comerre-Paton (1859-1955), who was probably Géo's mother, was also a painter. The Palais des Beaux-Arts in Lille owns a beautiful portrait of her, "Dutch Woman" (1889), and the Jacobins Museum in Morlaix owns the painting "The Song of the Woods" (1886). At least three portraits of Jacqueline painted by Léon exist: one in the collections of the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Strasbourg (1892), and two at the Petit Palais Museum in Paris: a headshot (1881) and a full-length portrait (1892).

The Musée d'Orsay holds two photographs from 1900 (c.) by Henri Manuel showing Léon Comerre in his studio with his friend George (Géo).

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
