View of the foothills of the East Allgäu Alps:
This photograph offers a sweeping view from the Tegelberg mountain over the characteristic moraine landscape of the Ostallgäu. In the centre of the picture is the Hegratsrieder Weiher, embedded in gently undulating green hills and surrounded by dense spruce forests. Lake Forggensee can be seen in the upper part of the picture, running through the terrain like a blue trail, indicating that this so-called lake district was formed during the Ice Age.
The landscape is a mosaic of pastures and forests. Scattered farmsteads and small hamlets can be recognised on the sparse slopes, which are connected by narrow paths and show the traditional settlement structure of the Alpine foothills.
Particularly striking is the mist or low clouds that descend from the sky and gather in the hollows. It shrouds parts of the landscape in a mystical veil, while other areas, especially the lakes and open meadows, emerge from underneath in clear light. The colour palette ranges from intense fir green to the bright light green of the meadows, contrasted by the deep dark blue of the water surfaces.
The view impressively illustrates the beauty and tranquillity of this pre-Alpine region, which forms the transition from the flat land to the majestic Alpine peaks.
