The Aletsch region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Aletsch Glacier is located in the Swiss canton of Valais. It borders directly on the Bernese Oberland, more precisely on the Jungfraujoch region and the area around the Eismeer and Mönch - the cantonal border between Bern and Valais runs over the peaks of the Jungfrau, Mönch and Fiescherhorn.
