Berlin Potsdamer Platz station – black and white by Silva Wischeropp

The reduction of colour values to classic black and white lends the modern Berlin cityscape a timeless and elegant atmosphere. The grey, rainy winter day is perfect for a clear, graphic and deserted image composition. The eye is drawn directly to the modern architecture.
The many small rain puddles provide a subtle reflection of the surrounding buildings and transform the city motif into a dynamic, urban landscape.

Berlin Potsdamer Platz station is an underground station at Potsdamer Platz in the centre of Berlin. It is adjacent to the Potsdamer Platz underground station. The railway station consists of a regional and an S-Bahn section. The regional station is located in the tunnel of the north-south long-distance railway line, which opened in 2006 and connects to Berlin Central Station.
It is part of the mushroom concept for Berlin's rail transport system. Next to it is the S-Bahn station, which went into operation in 1939 as part of the north-south tunnel.

South of today's Potsdamer Platz station was the Potsdamer (long-distance) station with two wing stations, which was closed before the end of the war in 1945.
To the east of the S-Bahn station is the Potsdamer Platz underground station, which is not structurally connected to the railway station. The underground station is a listed building. Another underground station for a planned new line was prepared during the construction of the regional station.
