The Berlin Palace (colloquially: City Palace) is located on the Spree Island in the Historic Center of Berlin. Partially burned out at the end of World War II in 1945, the palace was blown up in the GDR in 1950 despite international protests. After the private commitment of the Förderverein Berliner Schloss and other initiators, and following a resolution of the German Bundestag, the palace was rebuilt in 2013 until 2020.
At 368 meters, the Berlin TV Tower is the tallest structure in Germany and the fourth tallest TV tower in Europe. In 1969, the year of its completion, it was the second highest television tower in the world.
The Lutheran St. Marien Church is located on Karl-Liebknecht-Strasse in the park by the TV tower in Berlin's Mitte district, near Alexanderplatz. It is the oldest urban parish church in Berlin still in sacred use, one of originally six medieval church buildings in the historic center of Berlin, in the formerly densely built-up Marienviertel.
