The Belem Tower is an architectural masterpiece, and one of the most visited sights in Lisbon. The tower was built as a defensive structure at the mouth of the Tagus River in the early 16th century. The tower is surrounded by water depending on the tide, at low tide it is dry on the sand. Here, the tide was just receding. The photo was taken with a long shutter speed.
