About ‘Beige and black’ by Marloes Aerts

This artwork immediately feels somewhat heavier and rawer due to the use of black, white and subtle shades of beige. There is little colour in it, but that is precisely what makes it powerful. The dark areas are interspersed with lighter sections, creating a strong contrast. The white sometimes seems almost to break through the black, as if there were light beneath the surface striving to emerge.

The composition of the work is clearly layered. You can see that it has been created using blocks and planes, which have been superimposed on one another. Some parts are clean and rectangular, whilst other sections have been applied in a rough manner. There are also many lines and scratches, which lend the work extra movement. The paint is thick in some places and spread thinly in others, creating a lot of texture. The whole piece feels a bit chaotic, yet there is a clear balance to it. It is precisely this mix that makes it interesting to keep looking at.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
