About ‘Beauty with Lipstick in Abstract’ by Arjen Roos

In Beauty with Lipstick in Abstract, I explore the thin line between beauty and influence - between seduction and control.
A woman with a colourful, almost digital skin texture takes centre stage. Her face is abstract, almost unreal: composed of algorithmically generated patterns that blur the line between man and machine. Several male hands reach around her head, all with one purpose - to apply the perfect lipstick.

This composition embodies a tension deeply rooted in our visual culture.
Does the woman want to be beautiful for herself, or for the other person's gaze?
Is make-up an expression of identity, or a symbol of expectations imposed from outside?
The hands represent society, the media, and perhaps also the algorithms that determine what is "attractive" today.

The background, also algorithmically generated, reinforces the abstract nature of the work.
This creates a confrontation between old ideals of beauty and new forms of digital aesthetics.

"Beauty with Lipstick in Abstract" is a modern, layered ode to the complexity of female expression - powerful, critical and aesthetically seductive.
A work that asks questions about who really holds the brush in the portrayal of beauty.

What are the delivery times?

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
