When I arrived at Pont d'en Gil, I was first overcome by mild panic. The view was beautiful but the place was swarming with tourists. I wanted to take a photo that captured the peace and beauty of this natural wonder but that seemed impossible with so many people in view.
After thinking for a while, I decided to change my approach. I started looking for the ideal composition and took several photos, always with the idea that I could merge and compress everything later to get an image without people.
It took patience - a lot of patience. In the end, I was the last one standing there in complete silence. The wait turned out to be worth it. The composition is exactly how I wanted it: the arch, the soft colours of the sky, a boat and even a bird just flying into the picture. Everything together tells the story of this place and the moment when everything fell together.
