Along the quiet beach, small wooden beach houses along the Texel coast with a moody cloudy sky above. Texel is an island with the North Sea on one side and the Wadden Sea on the other. The photo shows wind as well as silence and tranquillity. The beach seems deserted and lonely, because not a single cottage is in use. Because the weather is not good enough? Or because there is no more interest in this kind of small simple accommodation?
The sand of the beach is rough and undulating and full of shells. The blue of the doors of the first cottage matches the cloudy sky and the sea wonderfully well. There is no human to be seen, despite the picture being taken in summer. It also looks quite cool.
The photo was taken in 2006 at the very end of the afternoon.
