"Basilica del Voto Nacional", one of the striking landmarks of Quito in Ecuador. For my work, I have been here regularly and, of course, not without my camera.
This morning I was up early again because of the time difference and took a taxi, to be dropped off at the "Panecillo lookout". From this spot, which is a lot higher than the rest of the city, you have a fantastic view. You can then see how vast and densely populated this city is.
Beforehand, I had made a plan to photograph and so I had brought a superzoom lens from home. Namely, I planned to take a close-up shot of the "Basilica".
Once I arrived on location and after getting everything set up and adjusted, the waiting for the right light could begin. You always need a bit of luck with the weather and this time it was along for the ride.
A beautiful sunrise and lovely warm light, it doesn't get much better than that. So I took some shots here and then slowly walked into the old centre to take some more photos.
At the end of the day, I went back to my hotel satisfied, where I then make a preselection of the shots I took that day. This way, I can work at home in a focused way to edit these shots and make them suitable for your wall.
