About ‘Basalt cave on the black sand beach’ by Louise Poortvliet
Basaltcave on the beach of Reynisfjara, west of Vik, Iceland.
Cooling lava creates these basaltcolumns of which this cave is made.
Like most of the old lava flows this cave is overgrown with moss.
Reynisdrangar is the rockformation in the background.

Hi there! I am Louise Poortvliet, 36 years old and a fanatic photographer ever since I was a little girl. Besides photography, travel is one of my passions. And these things combine so well!
I get quite some cool feedback about pictures I create while travelling. Take a look in my shop and see for yourself. There just might be one of my photos decorating your walls!
