About "Barong dance"

About the artwork

Barong is one of the Balinese dances performed in Bali in Indonesia. Also, Barong is the name of the King of Spirits, the leader of the good forces in Balinese mythology. The dance is based on the eternal battle between Good and Evil. The dance is performed by the lion-dragon Barong (the Good) and Rangda the witch (the Evil). Mudras (hand gestures) are used.
Accompanied by gamelan music, Rangda (the Evil One) usually retreats. In Bali, each dance has a social and religious background. Of this, the Barong dance, a drama, is a classic example. The masks and costumes are full of symbolism.

The Barong dance is performed when there is illness or misfortune in the village and is therefore meant to drive away these "evil forces. People gather at the death temple, the Pura Dalem. Women bring offerings. At the temple, umbrellas are used. When there is illness or misfortune in the village, the dance is performed. Evil spirits and demons come to the village from the direction of the sea.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
