Nowhere else on the Baltic Sea coast do land erosion and land formation take place so dynamically, in such a short time and in such a confined space as in the Western Pomerania Lagoon National Park. Weststrand, which borders directly on the Darßwald forest, is one of the most vivid examples of this. Due to its wildness and remoteness, it has been declared one of the most beautiful beaches in Germany and Europe on several occasions. Arte even nominated it as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world.
Weststrand is located on the west coast of the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula and consists of 14 kilometres of sandy beach. Here, romantic closeness to nature is combined with the unspoilt nature of the coastal landscape. The land has a rugged, inimitable charm, while the kilometre-long fine sandy beach invites you to linger and dream at any time of year.

The Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula is located on the Baltic coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It consists largely of the unspoilt "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft" National Park, a unique natural landscape in which wind and waves constantly recreate the coastline, deer stroll along the beach and thousands of cranes rest.

The powdery soft beach, the mystical windswept cranes on the Darßer Weststrand and the wide open view over the sea - this is what makes the Darß and its region so unique.
