On a ridge, somewhere in a pristine nature reserve, two worlds intersect. At my feet stand robust horses, firmly anchored in the earth. At the edge of the sculpture, vultures wait patiently, while high above them a bird draws its round in the sky. The moment was unforced - no preparation, no setup - pure nature as it showed itself at that moment.
The contrast between the heavy, muscular horses and the light, soaring birds drew me in immediately. The sculpture tells of balance: between earth and air, strength and waiting, movement and stillness. This work brings in a raw, honest atmosphere, without embellishment or romanticisation.
