Elswout in Overveen is one of the oldest preserved estates in the Netherlands with a park-like vegetation with many stinsen plants and historic buildings. Elswout is part of the Natura 2000 area National Park Zuid-Kennemerland. Park Elswout is open to the public. The estate includes a country house, stables and the orangery, which now serves as a catering establishment. The register of monuments calls this country house "One of the most monumental examples of 16th-century Italian villas inspired 19th-century country houses in the Netherlands."
