It is evening and autumn on the dyke. The first autumn storm has blown all the leaves off the trees. A group of geese has just taken off. A little later they will join the other geese. The great migration south has begun.
The full moon casts its light on the dike and the houses. The houses and the dike reflect in the water of a wide canal. The rotor blades of the wind turbine sparkle in the moonlight. Behind the dike lies the polder. The land lies fallow. In the distance are a few houses.
A man walks on the embankment of the dyke. His shadow forms a slanting dark line on the grass. For some reason, he does not use the stairs. Perhaps he is in a hurry? Or possibly he is carrying something in his shell?
