ABOUT THE WORK
It is mid-November in 2025, the temperature is lovely as I head into the forest near Forest House Three to take some photos's.
Today's theme is abstract photography, but on a fallen tree this fungus is growing just above the ground. The dew of that morning is still full on it.
More than a hundred drops of water cover the entire surface of the fungus. The water brings out and enhances the colours beautifully.
I am lucky to have the macro lens on the camera, which brings the water drops into focus beautifully.
The beauty of this time of year is the huge splash of colour. These very fungi come in many colour patterns and in various sizes. But rarely have I seen them so embedded in water drops. Probably because this fungus lives just above the ground surface.
The fungi tell at that it is autumn. An often wet period in the year, with the outing in the forest often ending with a steaming cup of coffee and apple pie at Boshuis Drie.
Enjoy!

Hans de Waay - enjoying landscapes & the city
Landscapes are beautiful to hang on the wall. You get out. Lovely to look at and dream away.
I try to capture the most beautiful moments. Often on the edges of the day. In the morning or in the middle of the night.
