Autumn Still Life: A Botanical Bouquet of Physalis and Wild Grasses

by Studio Pieternel

● Exclusive design for Werk aan de Muur / Art Heroes

This atmospheric piece brings the warm and soothing colours of autumn into your home. The design features a refined composition of orange Chinese lantern plants (Physalis), which immediately catch the eye with their characteristic paper lanterns. They are accompanied by graceful, swaying grasses and branches laden with deep red berries, creating a beautiful contrast against the light, understated background.

The artwork is reminiscent of a watercolour painting, with the details rendered in an artistic manner. The focus here is on the texture of the plants and the layering of the bouquet.

This piece fits perfectly within various contemporary interior design trends. Thanks to its natural colour palette and botanical theme, it blends seamlessly with an interior style such as Japandi, where simplicity and nature take centre stage. This design also comes into its own in an interior that embraces the Wabi-Sabi aesthetic; it celebrates the beauty of natural transience. It is an ideal choice for anyone who loves a sense of calm in their home and wishes to create a subtle, natural atmosphere without it being overpowering. Whether hung in the living room, study or bedroom, it instantly adds warmth and a touch of the outdoors to any interior.
