Violette Mist is the dreamy sister in the series. Instead of sharp ribbons of light, the Northern Lights here dissolve into the atmosphere: deep violet and orchid pink on the left, fading through pale silver into soft lime and sea green on the right. It feels less like watching the Northern Lights and more like standing right in the middle of them.
Low mist drifts amongst the dark conifers at the bottom of the image, and the glow seems to rise from the ground itself. A thin line of pink light along the water in the foreground anchors the scene and provides a resting point for the eye. The slightly weathered, painterly texture across the sky lends a handcrafted, analogue feel, as if the image were printed with pigment rather than ink.
The wide, panoramic format makes the sky feel vast. The silhouettes of the tree line form a horizon at the bottom, like notes on a stave, whilst the colour gradient above slowly shifts from one side to the other, creating a sense of rhythm and drift.
The atmosphere
This print evokes the silence that follows something beautiful. The colour palette is romantic and slightly mysterious, with plum, lavender, moss and mint blending into one another without harsh edges. It suits people who prioritise atmosphere over detail and love art that changes with the light in the room.
Where it fits
Above a bed or in the bedroom, where the soft shades of purple create a soothing, dreamy backdrop. In the living room as a bold statement above the sofa or a side table. In a creative workspace or studio, where the colour provides energy without creating chaos. Combined with warm neutral tones, grey-blue walls or deep green accents, the violet shades really come into their own.
Thanks to its broad proportions, Violette Mist is particularly striking in larger formats, where the colour gradient can fan out across the entire wall. A choice for anyone who wants a touch of northern magic in their home, without the chill.

Timeless photographic wall works are created in my studio, inspired by historical photographic techniques and the quiet nature of natural light. The images move between black and white and warm sepia and monochrome tones, with subjects from nature: flowers, landscapes, open windows and doors, animals and hushed moments.
With attention to softness, balance and detail, each work aims to bring calm, depth and a lasting, harmonious presence to a space.
