The close-up in this picture shows an Asian peony in full bloom - a moment of intense but quiet beauty. The petals unfurl in dense, lush layers, revealing delicate colour gradients from strong pink to almost whitish edges. These subtle nuances were the starting point of inspiration for me: the interplay of structure and colour in nature, which can never be exactly repeated.
When designing this picture, I wanted to create an atmosphere of calm and concentration - a pause for thought in the details. In many cultures, the peony symbolises grace, transience and inner richness. I didn't want to exaggerate this symbolism, but to subtly emphasise it. I am not interested in floral opulence, but in the quiet power that can emanate from a single, carefully observed moment.
In interior design, this picture acts like a visual breathing space. It is particularly suitable for rooms where clarity and aesthetics are required - be it in the living room, in a workspace or in a practice. The reduced colour palette and calm composition make it a harmonious yet expressive accent.
