Leaves are a continuous source of inspiration for me to take photos, although the photos I take from them often have a creative twist. To do this, I often use the multiple exposure technique: mixing two or more photos together. With this technique, you then create a photo that is just that little bit different from the others. So it is not a standard photo of a plant leaf. It is a challenging way of photographing that allows you to create artistic and creative works of art. So for this photo, I mixed two photos of the leaves of the dotted plant, also known as dots begonia (Begonia maculata). This plant has leaves with pretty dots and dark-coloured veins. An ordinary photo of this is already beautiful but I have turned it into an almost abstract yet natural work of art by taking both photos from different angles. This mixes the lines of the veins and the dots nicely into a special pattern. The lighting through the leaves creates beautiful light bokeh. Nothing is really in focus in this artistic work of art, but that makes the whole thing extra special. A nice calming photo, in natural colours, for anyone who wants to bring nature into their home.
I see making art as a creative process.
The starting point of this process for me is always a photo or a painting of my own. Every work of art on this site is therefore based on a self-made photo or painting.
I find my sources of inspiration in everything around me...
