Aquamarine Abstract Painting: Circle of Serene Tranquillity by Surreal Media

The first thing that strikes me are the broad, sweeping strokes that together form a large loop, as if a hand had gently traced a circle in the water. The colours range from deep sea-green in the shadows to almost white where the light is at its brightest, with a hint of peach here and there that adds a touch of warmth to the coolness. Just below the centre of that large loop, a small, pale blue circle is hidden, so subtle that you only notice it if you really take the time to look, and it was precisely that detail that I found most beautiful to hold onto whilst shaping this piece. For me, it began with a sense of stillness, of something that keeps turning without haste, like a thought that you let rest for a moment. The atmosphere is entirely cool and calm, with aquamarine and pearly white blending into one another, and a thin trace of silver tracing the upper edge of the circle, providing just enough sheen to capture the light. What I wanted to convey is a sense of taking a breath, of making space for yourself amidst all the movement. Technically, it is a digital artwork, constructed to resemble thick, painted layers with visible brushstrokes and a subtle canvas texture, so that the eye is drawn to the texture. In a bedroom, bathroom or a quiet reading no'n rustgevende cirkel het anker worden waar je blik vanzelf naartoe gaat na een drukke dag, een stil middelpunt in een ruimte vol prikkels. Of bekijk ook: "Omhelzing in Zilverdraad", another piece with that same soft sheen.
