Antelope Canyon consists of two small canyons, called Lower Antelope Canyon and Upper Antelope Canyon. These are so-called slot canyons. These are narrow gorges that are carved out by water or mud.
The Antelope Canyons are located in a Navajo reserve near the village of Page in Arizona, near Lake Powell. The Upper Antelope Canyon is about 400 metres long and 44.3 metres deep. Special light effects can be seen here, as the sun's rays shine in through narrow openings in a number of places.
