This urban, architectural motif was photographed on 1 September 2025 in the late afternoon hours with the NIKON D800 camera (lens: NIKKOR 24.0-70.0 mm f/2.8).

In one of the oldest districts of the city, the typical Andalusian balcony railings, often in combination with veranda-like glass windows in the Art Deco (Art Nouveau) style, appear in the cityscape. Successful colour compositions in very tasteful shades determine the architectural design in Andalusia.
The result is a very harmonious colour scheme that permeates the entire Andalusian cityscape of Cádiz. The cleanliness of the southern Spanish city of Cádiz, which is one of the oldest cities in Europe, is also striking.

The abstract translation of the colour tones into classic black and white lends the Andalusian city motif a timeless elegance.

The neighbourhood, El Pópulo, with its narrow streets, is one of the oldest districts in Cádiz. The city gates La Rosa, Los Blancos and El Pópulo were part of the medieval wall.

Cádiz, an old Spanish harbour city in the Andalusia region, is located on a headland in the southwest of the country and is surrounded on almost all sides by the sea. The city experienced its heyday as the seat of the Spanish navy and an important centre for exploratory expeditions and trade in the 16th century.
The more than 100 watchtowers, including the famous Torre Tavira, were traditionally used to keep an eye out for ships. The 18th century Cadiz Cathedral on the shore is also well known.
