An elegant little puff with an abstract reflection in warm terracotta and brown tones

by Marjolijn van den Berg

This photograph: "Elegant pluisje met abstracte reflectie in warme terracotta - bruintinten" is an (extreme) macro photograph of a simple dandelion fluff, a flower commonly seen in the Netherlands. Tiny droplets of water cling to the fluff’s hairs. There are also droplets of water on the reflective surface of the ground. These water droplets create an abstract reflection of the fluff on the ground. The warm colours in the photograph (colours I would describe as warm brown and terracotta) lend the image a warm and natural atmosphere. If you zoom in on the photograph, you can see that it is beautifully detailed in the area where the focus lies. As I’ve opted for a relatively shallow depth of field, the image becomes blurred the further you look towards the foreground or background. This simultaneously gives a sense of depth to the photograph and creates a sense of tranquillity.
Droplets are one of my favourite subjects to photograph. Sometimes the droplets are the sole subject; sometimes they adorn the subject, as in this photograph.
The fluff is white/cream in colour, which provides a lovely contrast to the background colour. This photograph, with its natural look, suits many different interior styles and homes.
This piece would, for example, look stunning as wall art in a romantic bedroom, mounted on ArtFrame or canvas. In the hall as wallpaper (a brilliant welcome!) or simply as an eye-catcher on aluminium or HD Metal above the sofa!
(Naturally, it also looks lovely in business settings, such as on the wall in a meeting room, office, waiting room or practice space!)
