In this picture you can see the trail of lights left by the Ferry connecting Amsterdam Central Station to Amsterdam Noord. In the background you can see the Eye film museum and the Amsterdam tower being lit in a dark and cold morning.
I took this picture almos every morning for several months when going to work before catching my train, being able to have the trail of lights across the whole frame was a challenging task. But I do believe it was worth it.
This is the first image of Amsterdam most tourists see as they come out of their train, but with a bit of a twist as the long exposure nature of the image allows you to see things differently, it gives some sort of calming feeling but it also makes it interesting, as if you do not know what that trail of lights is, you can spend some time trying to figure it out, and most of the times without success.
