Amsterdam North in the evening

The old NDSM wharf is bathed in soft evening light.
Stelcon plates draw a rough pattern on the ground, worn by decades of labour. The old crane stands out against the sky like an industrial giant, motionless but full of story.
The slope lies abandoned but breathes history. Graffiti snakes across the weathered concrete - a colourful echo of the new energy filling this place today.
And above: the stars, sharply visible in the clear night, as silent witnesses of a place in constant flux.
An image of transformation. Of what was, what is, and what is to come

With my work as a street photographer, I show the rough, unpolished sides of city life. With my photographs, I try to capture the beauty of everyday moments. The viewer can then invent his or her own story to go with it. I also have a fondness for industrial environments, such as harbour sites and factory buildings, where traces of the industrial past are still present. In doing so, I try to photograph subtle details, using both digital and analogue cameras.
