I took this photo on Ameland at the ferry port in the golden hour on the last evening during a five-day stay on my favourite island. It had been beautiful weather all week with great cloud cover, which made for very nice pictures especially in the evening around sunset (see some in my Ameland album, here).
This evening, it was cloudless and I was cycling along the Wad and had the idea that the cloudless sky would not yield beautiful pictures. The moment I got here, near the ferry port, the sky started to turn orange/red and the light fall on the Wad was still very beautiful. I decided to take the ferry, as the subject of my photo. This ferry I have a love-hate relationship with.....it's my great friend when it takes me to beautiful Ameland, when I have to go back to the shore it's not really my friend but I'm secretly happy with it anyway, because I know it will take me again next time :)
The orange/red colours with the ferry and the light falling on the Wadden Sea make this another very nice picture for the wall!
