The Duomo (St Andrew's Cathedral) is the religious, historical and cultural centre of Amalfi. Amalfi Cathedral is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Campania. A good 57 steps lead from the piazza to Amalfi Cathedral. The cathedral houses the remains of St Andrew the Apostle, the patron saint of Amalfi.

Amalfi is located in the centre of the Amalfi Coast and is a popular holiday destination in southern Italy. It is a town in the Italian region of Campania and the capital of the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast owes its name to this pretty town. The stretch of coast between Positano and Vietri sul Mare has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
