The Allgäu Alps are a mountain range of the Northern Limestone Alps. This mountain range is located on Austrian (states of Tyrol and Vorarlberg) as well as on German territory. For example, the southernmost point of Germany is located in the Allgäu Alps. This massif is characterized by a multitude of rock formations and therefore has a very diverse landscape. For example, there are grass mountains that can have an angle of inclination of up to seventy degrees. The flora here is among the most diverse in the entire Alpine region. The access to this mountain range is above average and is done by cable cars and alpine roads. The "Höhenwege" which lead from hut to hut are famous. Here, hikers can travel for seven to ten days without entering inhabited valleys.
