These elfin benches were sitting on a lying piece of dead wood of a beech tree along a stream. For this photo, I hung my camera under my tripod to get at it, furthermore I used my 85mm macro lens. Since I was working from a tripod anyway, I kept a fairly high aperture and a low iso value, this made the shutter speed relatively slow. I noticed that I could still take these mushrooms in winter, as it was January when I took this picture. I did not count the number of elven banks, but it is clear that this mushroom species has expanded considerably.
