The Abyssinian Warbler is one of Uganda's most colourful birds and a true ambassador of the African savannah. With its turquoise, cobalt blue and lilac purple feathers, it seems almost painted by nature itself. He often sits on a high branch or pole, alert and stately, waiting for prey. As soon as he notices an insect or lizard, he dives down as fast as an arrow - a brief moment of strength and precision, followed by a graceful flight back down.
This dabbler lives in open landscapes such as savannahs and akacia fields, where its colours contrast beautifully with the warm golds and browns of its surroundings. Its presence literally brings colour to the landscape and symbolises the vibrancy of African nature.
This photo collection celebrates the beauty of the Abyssinian dabbler: from still portraits where its colours glow in the sunlight to dynamic shots in full flight. An ode to elegance, freedom and the boundless creativity of nature in Uganda.
