I had no plan for this painting. Just the impulse to put the strong, warm red from my watercolour paintbox on paper.
Combined with the vanilla-coloured yellow, the result is a wild evening sky in dark fiery red.
The landscape is already almost in darkness and stands in strong contrast to the warm colours of the sky. A warm day is withdrawing, the cool night is slowly creeping in.
I painted the painting with watercolours on cotton paper.
