About ‘Above the Vineyards’ by Klaas van der Molen

An analog, grainy black-and-white photo that captures the magic of Lake Geneva in a misty, ominous, and timeless atmosphere.

The lake represents freedom, purity, and unity.

However, access to this paradise is denied to the viewer by an aging metal railing. Despite its simple function of providing safety, it forms a symbolic barrier between the viewer and the serene, untouched water surface of the lake.

But there is an opening—a staircase leading downward, toward the lake.

This staircase invites the viewer to transcend the limitation of the railing (the ego) and take a step toward a deeper experience. It asks the viewer to have the courage to leave the safe and familiar behind and surrender to the unknown.

The photo evokes a sense of melancholy, where the limitation of one's own thinking takes center stage.

At Art Heroes we do not mass produce or keep stock, but make to order. Your artwork is made with passion by experienced craftsmen and is on average ready for shipment in 7 business days. Details on the exact delivery date will be sent after placement of the order. Depending on the shipping country the following delivery times apply:

Is your order a gift for someone? We can create you a gift voucher that displays the artwork(s) you ordered, so you have something to give while the artwork is being printed. Just send us an e-mail and we’ll take care of it.

How will the package be sent?

We work with several carriers, mainly UPS and DHL (Depending on the country where it is delivered, this may vary). Couriers can also be used for large or fragile packages.

Canvas are securely packed in plastic bubble wrap and cardboard. Wallpaper and posters are sent in sturdy tubes.

A courier collects the package from us and takes the package to a depot where it usually stays overnight. The day after it is collected and delivered to your home or office. We work with courier services that specialise in handling fragile parcels.

Not at home? Then the delivery driver will leave a note and an appointment can be made to schedule a new delivery.

Unfortunately, there remains a chance that something can happen during a shipment. In the unlikely event that your parcel has been damaged during transit, please take a picture of the entire item, the damage, the entire package and a picture of the shipping label. Send these photos to us by email and we will solve the problem without delay.
