About "Abandoned grandeur - Urbex photography of a room in a Groningen manor farmhouse"

by KB Design & Photography (Karen Brouwer)

About the artwork

A room full of quiet stories, bathed in soft morning light falling in through the large windows. In the heart of an abandoned farmhouse in Groningen, we find this remarkable space, where past glory is tangibly present. The room is dominated by an impressive, richly decorated fireplace with neoclassical details, weathered by time but still breathtaking in its elegance. The ceiling displays geometric patterns with subtle gold accents, still evoking a sense of stateliness.

The walls are partly stripped, with exposed brickwork and loose plaster, adding a raw charm to the whole. Outside, fresh greenery beckons, as a contrast to the decayed interior. This picture captures the poetry of decay - a place where past and nature slowly embrace each other.
